Horde of chuckies invade Time Square

A horde of actors dressed as horror icon Chucky ran amok in Times Square yesterday to promote an upcoming Child’s Play film.

Passersby gawked, laughed and sneered at the six fully-grown flame-haired ‘dolls’ who crossed roads and stalked street corners brandishing butcher’s knives.

Each Chucky wore the horror film character’s trademark blue dungarees and striped long-sleeve T-shirt.

The eye-catching stunt was designed to promote the release of Child's Play, Chucky's 20th Birthday Edition DVD.

The extras-filled MGM re-release is a cleaned-up widescreen version of the 1988 cult horror hit. According to previews, the film will be presented as more of a mystery-slash-commentary on consumerism than your average horror-slash-horror.
